Snowave

Snowave runs group trips for snow, surf and skate. One thing to establish up front: this is not an association but a commercial company, registered in the United Kingdom. You book a trip, there is no membership, and there is no community behind it in the way there is behind a club.

The snow offering

The winter programme includes the Trois Vallées Experience at Orelle, a carving camp at Cervinia, a summer glacier session between Cervinia and Zermatt, a freeride week with catskiing in Georgia, a ski week, and the Snow Shuttle connecting the city to the resorts.

How the dates work

The thing to know before contacting them: trips are presented as season windows — “December/March”, “April” — rather than specific dates, and the site’s public calendar is not where snow departures get announced.

To find out when a trip actually leaves, you have to ask. The channels given are WhatsApp and email, and payment can be split into instalments.

For anyone travelling from the city without a car the shuttle format is the real draw, and the main reason they are worth keeping an eye on.
