The busiest Italian Facebook group of any that deal with snowboarding — and it is not a discussion group: it is a used-gear marketplace. Worth knowing before you join it looking for advice.

It is a public group with around seventeen thousand members, mixing skiing and snowboarding. Listings come through at a high rate all year, and pick up as the season approaches.

What it is for

Buying and selling used equipment: boards, bindings, boots, clothing, skis. There is filtering to do between ski and snowboard, but the volume makes up for it: in a market as small as Italy’s, a group moving at this rate is where second-hand gear actually changes hands.

It is not the place to ask which board to buy or what the snow is like. For that there is Malati di Snowboard, which has explicit rules against listings precisely so it does not turn into this.

As in any private sale, the obvious cautions apply: inspect gear in person where you can, be wary of prices that look too good, and prefer traceable payment methods.
