Malati di Snowboard

Malati di Snowboard — in full Malati di Snowboard Gruppo Ufficiale — is the largest Italian snowboard discussion group, and the one with the highest volume of conversation.

It is a public group: posts and the member list are visible to anyone, though you have to join to write. It has been running since 2017 and has around thirty-three thousand members, with a settled team of administrators and moderators.

Why it works

The rules ask for civility and ban promotion, spam and commercial posts from shops and associations. That is why the discussion stays readable rather than drowning in listings, which in Italian snowboard groups is far from guaranteed.

You find what you would expect from a generalist group: gear questions, resort conditions, photos, and people who live near each other arranging to ride together.

The linked page

Alongside the group there is a Facebook page with a few thousand followers, from which they run webinars and camps and also post into the group.

These are two different numbers and worth not confusing: the group is far larger than the page. The domain listed on the page, malatidisnowboard.it, is not live — everything happens through Facebook.
