FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup – Cervinia

Cervinia opens the 2026/27 FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup season. This has become a fixture of the calendar: in mid-December the Plateau Rosa glacier offers firm, reliable snow while much of the Alps is still waiting for its first real snowfall, which makes the resort the natural venue for the circuit’s season opener.

The programme runs over two days. Saturday 12 December hosts the individual men’s and women’s races; Sunday 13 December is given over to the team event, in which two riders from the same nation take the course in relay. The FIS calendar reserves the 11–13 December window, which includes the official training day before racing begins.

Snowboard cross is the most immediately readable discipline in the sport: four or six riders drop into the same course together, through jumps, banked turns and rollers, and whoever crosses the line first goes through. You need neither a stopwatch nor technical knowledge to follow who is winning.

Admission is free for spectators. The detailed timetable is published by the organising committee in the weeks before the event, and it is worth checking before you travel: qualification and final times can be adjusted to suit the weather.
