FIS Snowboard World Cup – Carezza Parallel Giant Slalom

Carezza is one of the longest-standing stops on the alpine snowboard circuit, and it returns to the calendar for the 2026/27 season. Racing takes place on Thursday 17 December 2026 on the Pra di Tori slope at the Costalunga Pass, with men’s and women’s parallel giant slalom (PGS) on the same day.

The parallel format is simple and highly watchable: two riders descend simultaneously on mirrored courses of identical difficulty, in a knockout bracket that runs round by round to the final. Qualification opens in the morning, the knockout rounds are held in the early afternoon, and the prize-giving closes the day.

The setting is what made this race famous: the Latemar and Catinaccio massifs as a backdrop, a technical course with sharp changes of rhythm, and spectators following the action from the edge of the piste. Admission is free.

One distinction is worth getting right, because it is often confused: Carezza hosts the parallel giant slalom (PGS), not the parallel slalom (PSL). Italy’s World Cup parallel slalom is held at Racines at the end of January.
